An aluminum alloy that is said to provide good machinability, higher hardness, increased strength, and smoother sawed and machined surfaces than existing 6061-T651 plate has been developed by Alcoa, Pittsburgh, Pa. Called 6013-Power Plate, the alloy also provides the excellent corrosion resistance, weldability, and the thermal conductivity of 6051-T651.
