Ultrason P 3010 polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) has a Charpy notched impact strength almost ten times greater than that of other amorphous high-temperature materials, reports BASF, Pittsburgh, Pa. It is the newest member of the Ultrason family, which also includes Ultrason S polyarylsulfone (PSU) and Ultrason E (PESU). The new PPSU reportedly combines the high melting temperature of Ultrason E with the low water-absorption of Ultrason S, while also displaying high chemical resistance.
