Under the broad roof provided by the title of this volume are housed an unusually wide-ranging collection of essays. The contributors, mostly British scholars, offer reflections on everything from British policy towards Yugoslavia in the early days of the cold war to Anglo-American intelligence co-operation in the Far East. There is not much constructedness to the volume, but probably a little of something for anyone interested in post-1945 British policy.
