Imagine throwing a party and no one shows.
OK, now imagine those guests are several thousand cubic yards of leaves.
That's what faced Lane County's John Petsch when he sat down with his colleagues to dial in this year's leaf pickup schedule.
"Two weeks ago when we started planning this, I thought, `Oh man, the leaves are never going to fall,'?" the county's road maintenance planner said.
