AN adventurous six-month old puppy found herself in a hole when she was trapped for more than 24 hours.
Stephen Wilkinson was walking Poppy with his wife and children, Milly, six, and Jack, five, on land opposite Oakwell Hall Country Park in Nutter Lane, Birstall, on Sunday morning.
He thinks the pup was chasing a rabbit through some bushes when she got herself trapped in the hole, which was hidden under a paving slab.
Stephen said he heard Poppy yapping and barking, and realised she was stuck. He stayed at the site and tried to dig her out but had to call out the fire service.
