How do audio and Midi differ?
Midi files are instructions that record the details of a passage of music: the notes, when they start and stop, how loudly they're played and so on. It's best to think of them as sheet music for the computer.
When the time comes to play the music back, the Midi file sends these instructions to the electronic instruments, which then 'perform' the music like musical robots. ...
