WORCESTER - District 4 Councilor Barbara G. Haller and Lynne H. Simonds, her opponent in the Nov. 6 election, attacked each other yesterday for their views on social services.
Ms. Simonds, program director for Southbridge Community Connections, called Ms. Haller "mean spirited" for characterizing people as "social misfits." Ms. Haller replied that she works with people to find solutions for their problems while she said that Ms. Simonds makes "people feel like they're victims."
The exchange took place in a debate on the Jordan Levy show on WTAG-AM.
