With one race left, Sebastien Bourdais wrapped up the 2007 Champ Car World Series championship-the fourth straight for the Frenchman and his Newman-Haas-Lanigan team-at the Lexmark Indy 300 on the street circuit at Surfers Paradise in Australia. A top-12 finish would have sealed the series crown, but Bourdais iced the cake with a decisive win, the 30th of his career and the first time any driver has repeated as winner of the race in its 17-year history.
