The NASCAR boys swear that engines always run best just before they blow up, but in the case of the HKS Motorsports 350Z, it seemed more like a blowout than a blowup. Just as we hit fourth gear, nearing the finish line of an otherwise impressive acceleration run at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, it felt as if someone had pulled the plug.
