AN adventurous six-month-old puppy was in a spot of bother when she was trapped in a hole for more than 24 hours.
Stephen Wilkinson, of White Lee, was walking Poppy with his wife and children, Milly, six, and Jack, five, on the land opposite Oakwell Hall Country Park on Sunday morning.
It is thought the young Jack Russell was chasing a rabbit through some bushes when she got herself trapped in the hole which was obscured by a paving slab. Stephen said he heard Poppy yapping and barking, and realised she was stuck.
He stayed at the site and tried to dig her out for 24 hours before calling the fire service.
