A BEVERLEY couple have raised [pounds sterling]700 for the Poppy Appeal by organising a series of events.
Debbie and Stuart Kilgannon started their fund-raising efforts just under a year ago, after discussing the experiences of their grandfathers during the Second World War.
They decided to support the 2007 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in Beverley. In February they organised a Disney themed fancy dress dinner party, and in May they took on the task of cutting down and disposing of a large fir tree for a neighbour who made a significant contribution to their Poppy Appeal fund.
