IN four years, the community of Van Nuys will be celebrating its 100th birthday. That in itself makes us proud to call Van Nuys our home.
The Van Nuys Civic Center, aka "Downtown Van Nuys," continues to recover from the blight that was identified as one of the reasons some former Van Nuys residents used to disassociate themselves from Van Nuys by changing their neighborhood names to Sherman Oaks, Valley Glen or Lake Balboa.
