The biological era is here. Biological augmentations, repairs, replacements and resurfacings are undergoing investigation and basic science is playing a part, more than ever before, in medical and surgical solutions. Autologous cell regeneration and acellular biological scaffolds have recently generated considerable interest in orthopaedic disorders.
