Having taken an early lead, AFC fell a goal behind, but came back to win Saturday's Ryman League encounter in Hertfordshire with two second-half goals to keep pressure on at the top of the table.
But the victory was marred was with an injury to leading scorer James Rowe, who, having scored twice, missed the last 15 minutes with what looked like a serious foot injury, and he left the ground on crutches.
It was Rowe who shot AFC into a 16th-minute lead, and it looked then as if this was going to be a routine victory against the third from bottom team, but nothing could have been further from the truth.
