EBRD increases 2007 GDP growth forecast for Ukraine

KYIV. Nov. 9. (Interfax) - Real GDP growth in Ukraine will slow to 6.8% and 6% in 2007 and 2008, respectively, in comparison with 7.1% in 2006, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in an analytical report unveiled on Thursday.

The EBRD put Ukrainian GDP growth for 2007 at 5.8% in May of this year.

The bank also foresees that Ukraine's consolidated budget deficit in 2007 will come to 2.7% of GDP, up from 1.3% in 2006. The balance of payments deficit will grow from 1.5% to 3.7% of GDP, the report said.
