PLANNING permission is being sought to renovate Bell House Barn, used by the notorous counterfeit gang the Cragg Vale Coiners and turn it into a visitor attraction.
Bell House Barn in Cragg Vale is one of the oldest buildings in Calderdale. But it was partly destroyed by a storm in 1974.
Now Nathan Smith and Elizabeth Tomkins, owners of nearby Bell House, plan to reconstruct the barn.
Their plans, submitted to Calderdale Council, include dedicating a museum to the Coiners on the ground floor, along with a visitor centre for the many ramblers on the Calder and Pennine Ways.
