WAUKESHA -- This was the type of performance Middleton prep boys volleyball coach Ben White wanted to see.
Despite losing to Waukesha Catholic Memorial 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19 in the semifinals of the WIAA state tournament Saturday morning at Waukesha West High School, the Cardinals proved they could compete with the state's elite teams.
"We made that statement that we belong," White said. "Now the pressure is on the younger guys to help us stay at this level."
