A decade ago, Hubert de Givenchy looked at me and said, ``Are you asking me when I am going to die?''
At that point, I felt like dying. I had asked the famous French fashion designer if he had given any thought to his retirement and the future of his design business. The tone of his voice and his answer threw me off as I tried, unsuccessfully, to rephrase my question.
In the end, Givenchy said, ``Retire? It's impossible. No!''
