East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell is seeking support in the House of Commons for moves to help people losing their jobs in Seagate in Limavady, and he's suggested the police training college should now go to Ballykelly.
Mr Campbell said he's also pressing the government to come up with 50% match funding to allow the Limavady workers to benefit from a special EU 'globalisation fund', which helps areas badly-hit by the loss of jobs to developing countries.
Mr Campbell and his DUP colleague George Robinson MLA met with Seagate management again last Thursday and discussed the redundancy offer to their workforce, as well as the possibility of the EU money. ...
