Article: B OF A REPORT FORECASTS 'NEW ECONOMIC FOUNDATION' FOR SAN DIEGO

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Rebounding from a deep recession, San Diego's diversifying economy is likely to expand modestly between now and the end of 1996, setting the stage for significantly stronger growth in the future, according to a Bank of America report released today.

Howard Roth, who wrote the report, is the bank's vice president and director of regional economics. He pointed to numerous signs that San Diego is building a new economic foundation.

"The cornerstones of the post-Cold War San Diego economy will be international trade, the visitor and convention business and non- defense, high-technology research and development," Roth said.
