Emeritus Corp. says it lost $11.6 million in 3rd quarter
Emeritus Corp., the Seattle-based operator of assisted living and senior housing facilities, reported a third-quarter loss of $11.6 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with a loss of $6.4 million, also 36 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 29 percent to $138.1 million.
Emeritus said the quarter partly includes results from its acquisition of Summerville Senior Living, which closed Sept. 1; shares issued for that deal account for the unchanged earnings-per-share. Emeritus operates or has an interest in 288 communities.
