During the 2003 campaign, Anello's campaign manager, Dan Bristol, was as visible at the candidate himself. Bristol's experience in the Air Force and working at the White House was presented as another reason to vote for Anello, his appointment as city administrator a given.
Like almost everything else remotely connected to Anello's single term, Bristol's role in it turned out disastrously.
