BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 1995--H.A. Sklenar, chairman and chief executive officer of Vulcan Materials Co. (NYSE:VMC), announced today that, effective Aug. 1, 1995, the board of directors has appointed Donald M. James (46) Senior Vice President-South, Construction Materials Group.
James joined Vulcan in 1992 as senior vice president and general counsel and most recently has served as president of the company's Southern Division, a post he will continue to fill.
James will have management responsibility for the company's Southern and Southwest Divisions and for Vulcan Gulf Coast Materials Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company ...
