People are praying for snow on the Tug Hill plateau after one of the warmest Octobers on record. Enough snow to turn the Winona State Forest into a perfect destination for cross-country skiers, but not enough to hinder people coming to the 28th annual Tug Hill Tourathon.
The Tourathon, run by the Winona Forest Recreation Association, is an all-day cross-country skiing competition with 50K, 25K, 13K and kids-only races. Last year, a snowstorm kept people away from the event, with only 150 people attending.
