JAKARTA, Nov 16 Asia Pulse - A World Bank statement that Indonesia's poverty rate will have dropped 2.6 per cent by 2008 is not more than an effort to justify the government's poverty programs, a private economic analyst said.

Henri Saparini, an analyst at the Advisory Group on Economics, Industry and Trade (Econit), was referring to a World Bank projection that Indonesia's poverty rate in 2008 would be 42.6 per cent (100.7 million people) or down from 45.2 per cent (105.3 million people) in 2007.
