Produced in quantity and commonly appearing at gun shows and over Internet auction sites is the large and robust Model 71/84 Mauser chambered for the black powder 11x60mmR cartridge. Historically, it was Paul Mauser's first successful repeater. The last major importation of M71/84s was accomplished several years ago hy Navy Arms, but actually, M71/84s have been drifting into the US ever since the early 1900s.
In fact, the model was once so common Remington, Winchester and Dominion loaded the 11x60mmR cartridge for decades as a general purpose sporting round. When you find one, you'll discover that the M71/84 is not only a great collectible but a hoot-to-shoot.
