NO SOONER WAS I writing last month about alternative forms of exhibition than a new one appears---employed by Kenneth Branagh no less. After the treatment by distributors of his splendidly innovative Love's Labour's Lost, this time he hasn't given them the chance--at least in the USA. The new version of As You Like It has to date been shown theatrically only in Italy: in America it went straight to HBO where in September it was run over fifty times, then a few weeks later it was released to DVD.
