fire stations in the Diss area are at risk of being understaffed if the contracts of eight retained firefighters are not renewed, according the the Norfolk branch of the Retained Firefighters' Union (RFU).
Norfolk Fire Service has decided not to extend the retained contracts of firefighters from seven stations across the county including Diss, East Harling and Wymondham, saying the staff involved would be compromising their positions as full time Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) technicians.
