Coyotes could be getting a bad rap. Maybe they can blame the humorous cartoon character Wile E. Coyote.
It's true that the coyote is one crafty creature. But if your cat is missing, a coyote is not the likely culprit, says Chris Eaton, who knows a thing or two about the species. "A cat can climb a tree," Eaton says. "A coyote cannot climb a tree. But a fisher can." The fisher, by the way, is among the largest members of the weasel family.
