THE FAMED CHRISTIE'S Auction House in New York has secured $510,000 for a unique Steinway-crafted "Walden Woods" artcase piano. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Walden Woods Project, which is in the process of acquiring open land surrounding Walden Pond, made famous by author-philosopher Henry David Thoreau.
The 9' Model D Steinway "Walden Woods" concert grand piano incorporates exquisite artistry into a musical instrument of unsurpassed quality, resulting in a one-of-a-kind collector's prize.
