This is a pioneering investigation of a difficult but important topic how ancient Greek dries managed their water supplies. Dora P. Crouch, an urban historian who has studied dries as diverse as Palmyra and Santa Fe, draws on several disciplines to ask significant questions about some neglected problems of life in ancient dries.
