When customers order home delivery, they expect their food to arrive hot and in a hurry.

"Nobody wants to wait loonger than 30 minutes for their food," says Maggie Proctor, public relations manager for Domino's, which set the standard for delivery time with its famous 30-minutes-or-it's-free guarantee. And even though the chain no longer guarantees speedy delivery, the goal remains the same.
