FRIENDS and invited guests joined in a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Scarborough Art Gallery.
The town's MP, Robert Goodwill, emulated one of his predecessors, Sir Alex Spearman - who officially opened the building - by cutting a birthday ribbon with the help of the mayor on Saturday.
Mr Goodwill said: "I am really honoured to join the mayor in cutting the ribbon it's a nice touch that they invited the current MP to repeat the task."
