As Carrick-on-Shannon took a step closer to becoming a metropolitan town this week with the installation of two new full time taxi ranks, there was an initial hiccup on the first day of the new taxi stand bye-laws.
As caught by the Leitrim Observer photographer on Monday morning, a van and a skip bin had parked themselves in one of the full time taxi ranks at Lower Bridge Street making it impossible for a registered taxi to operate business from within the taxi lined zone and causing some confusion to passers-by and those waiting on taxis.
