1st Round of Halbro Cup

Leigh travelled to Lymm to play higher league rivals in the first round of the Halbro Cup. The Hand Laners started well, dominating territory, despite playing into the strong wind.
Lymm's well organised defence kept their line intact forcing back some strong runs from the young Leigh side. It was Lymm who broke the deadlock, with a fine passage of play, to see their speedy centre break the defence cover to score a well deserved unconverted try in the corner. The home side now had the upper hand but Leigh's defence was up to the task and they pressurised the Cheshire side into mistakes.
