Town councillors opposing the closure of Haywards Heath's two sub-post offices want to see figures on numbers using the branches and the revenues.
At a meeting on Monday there was unanimous backing for the view that both Franklands Road and New England Road post offices are of 'social importance to the two communities they serve'.
Town clerk Carole Preston said: "It is felt that their closure is unnecessary and that this action does not serve the best interests of the community.
