SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 14, 1995--As video game companies begin to focus on 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, these new video game console shipments will climb from less than 5 million units in 1995 to nearly 18 million by the year 2000, according to a new Dataquest report. As sales decline in 8-bit and 16-bit video game consoles, video game companies are upgrading to the next-generation video game platforms, which have a higher level of semiconductor content.
