"Conservationists in camouflage" was the recent cover story of People, Land Water, "the monthly news letter for all employees of the U.S. Department of the Interior." The article told readers that "hunters have played a critical role in conserving refuges and wetlands."
But should that be news to employees of the U.S. Department of the Interior? If people working in the branch of government most concerned with perpetuating wildlife don't already know of the crucial role that hunting has played in conservation history, how can sportsmen expect the general public to appreciate that fact? Certainly it's not going to be found in books from mainstream publishers ...
