Six confidential discs have gone missing from the Preston offices of a government department already under fire for losing millions of bank account details.
The discs contained recordings of a customer making a complaint to a member of staff at HM Revenue and Customs.
They were lost in transit between the HMRC tax credit offices in Cop Lane, Penwortham and London.
The package was bound for the HMRC offices in Parliament Street, London, because the complainer had contacted their MP about their complaint.
It was sent via internal mail using the courier firm TNT on October 30 and reported missing later that day, when the discs did not ...
