Poland sells last stake in local unit of British American Tobacco

WARSAW. NOVEMBER 27. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - Poland's new government approved the sale of 3.26% of shares in British American Tobacco Polska, a unit of BAT, the second-largest listed tobacco company in the world, the government's press office said in a statement Tuesday.

"The transaction worth PLN 8.7 mln will complete the company's privatization," reads the statement.

The shares will be sold to British American Tobacco (Hamburg International) GmbH, based in Hamburg, Germany. The Treasury will sell 55,875 shares in the Augustow, northeastern Poland-based tobacco company.
