WORCESTER - It took three weeks, but incumbent Konstantina B. Lukes has finally been declared the winner of the Nov. 6 mayoral election.
Mrs. Lukes, who entered yesterday with a 105-vote lead over Frederick C. Rushton, emerged from the daylong recount with an even bigger victory margin, after picking up 11 more votes than Mr. Rushton.
According to final election results, Mrs. Lukes received 7,507 votes, followed by Mr. Rushton with 7,391. Rounding out the mayoral field were Gary Rosen with 4,552 votes and William S. Coleman III with 1,318 votes.
