PUBLIC health experts have issued advice to people struck down by a severe stomach bug which has gripped Leeds.
As reported by the YEP yesterday, six hospital wards have been closed following an outbreak of viral gastroenteritis - also known as norovirus - across the city.
Around 50 patients and 20 staff at St James's and Leeds General Infirmary have been affected but scores more people in the community are also thought to be suffering.
Medics at West Yorkshire Health Protection Unit today warned that environments where large numbers of people congregate - schools, hospitals and nursing homes - would be worst affected.
