LONDON and ISELIN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 16, 1995--U.S. Industries, Inc. (NYSE-USN) today reported a net loss, after nonrecurring charges, of $159 million for the third quarter ended June 30, 1995 on net sales of $693 million. On a pro forma basis, the net loss was $168 million or $3.13 per share. For the comparable third quarter of 1994, the Company had net income of $25 million ($24 million, or $0.45 per share on a pro forma basis) on net sales of $692 million. Excluding nonrecurring charges, the Company recorded net income of $7 million for the quarter (net loss of $2 million, or $0.04 per share on a pro forma basis).
