ALBANY - Albany has much in common with Providence and Hartford.
But the Rhode Island and Connecticut state capitals both have gleaming convention centers in their downtowns. Albany doesn't.
That, of course, could change: A $300 million convention center is planned for Hudson Avenue, near the Times Union Center. And what Albany should expect, economically speaking, from the proposed structure was the topic of a Tuesday forum sponsored by the Times Union's editorial board.
