Article: Christian group puts kids in a cage!

A GLADIATOR-STYLE football cage is being used on Wearside streets to battle antisocial behaviour and give teenagers something to do.

The mobile, 15-metre wide cage - designed to play football in - has been introduced by the Plains-Farm based A690 Youth Initiative.

The giant auditorium will be visible in the coming months on the streets of Thorney Close, Grindon, Farringdon, Plains Farm and Silksworth.

These areas have been identified as those with the least youth facilities, and it is hoped that the portable cage will stop teens hanging about on the streets and instead focus their energies on sport.
