IRVING, TEXAS -- All is not lost for the Green Bay Packers, despite their 37-27 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
The Packers (10-2) are in prime position to earn the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs, which would give them a first-round bye and a home game in the divisional round of the postseason on the second weekend of January.
The Packers haven't earned a first-round playoff bye since 1997, when they posted a 13-3 record and earned the No. 2 playoff seed behind the San Francisco 49ers. The Packers wound up winning the NFC championship game in San Francisco that ...
