HARRIET Harman was facing a fresh funding probe last night after failingto declare a [pounds sterling]40,000 loan taken out to pay for her successful deputy leadershipcampaign.
She wrote to the Electoral Commission to ask if the extension to her mortgageshould have been reported under party funding laws.
The loan was taken out on the home she shares with her husband, Labourtreasurer Jack Dromey, to help meet a [pounds sterling]22,000 shortfall in the campaignaccounts. In a statement last night, her campaign team said they had been'under the impression' that it was not necessary to declare it to the watchdog.
