TULSA, Okla., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Educational Development Corp. (Nasdaq: EDUC) today reported record sales and record net earnings for the first quarter ended May 31, 1995.
Net sales were $4,003,600 for the quarter compared to $2,700,400 for the same period last year, an increase of 48%. The company's Home Business Division (the multi-level selling branch of the company) led the way with a 135% increase in net sales. The Library and Publishing Divisions also recorded increases in sales over the same period last year.
Pretax earnings increased 47% to $730,100 for the quarter compared to $497,000 for the same period last year.
