In what has become "the longest-running performance" of interpreted art from a Harlem Renaissance mastermind, the National Center of Afro-American Artists opened the curtains for the 38th annual performance of the "Black Nativity."
"It's a gift to the city in celebration of men and women and children of good will," said Barry Gaither, director of National Center of Afro-American Artists and producer of the show, which began its Boston run in 1969. "It's a terrific production, with a brilliant musical ensemble."
