In response to the cover story, "Recipe for a hungry planet" (October): While dealing with hunger might seem daunting, one easy, effective, and healthful step is to move toward a plant-based diet. Converting grains to meat is inherently inefficient, reducing the amount of calories and protein available for the world's poor and hungry.
